I am a Swedish artist raised in Boston, studying Studio Art & English at Davidson College

I’m primarily a painter. I also write, draw, and do digital art and film photography.

As a child, I used to wander around barefoot in Sweden’s mossy forests, feeling a deep unspoken communication between me and nature. I would marvel at the sunlight as it splayed a glittering dance onto the rocks beneath my feet. I was certain I shared a secret with the natural world.

My oil paintings begin with digital manipulation of photographs I take. I then use experimental processes including pouring paint and laying plastic wrap over top to create texture on the canvas that resembles ocean waves; nature has agency in the way my work turns out. Bold, transparent brushstrokes give my pieces a sense of vitality as I represent my distorted memories overtop. As my pieces come to life, a glowing, blooming energy emerges. When painting, I reflect on that secret I was let in on as a child. My paintings and photography both explore transient moments of wonder, attempting to uncover the magic that so presently speaks to me in light on natural elements.
